Dietetics & Nutrition

Nutrition is important to provide energy and essential nutrients to our body for our health and general well-being. Through the different life stages and diseases, our nutritional requirements may change. A dietitian can assist you in personalising a nutrition management plan to meet your nutritional requirements or during times of illness, especially for diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, gastrointestinal disorders, renal disease and obesity. Such interventions are also essential for people who are malnourished or those who require tube-feeding.

Our dietitians provide assessment and evidence-based nutrition therapy to improve the clinical outcomes of patients. They empower and provide knowledge to patients to help them better manage their chronic conditions. This is done by understanding their needs through face-to-face consultations and personalising a plan of care with them. Our services are available to patients aged 16 and above.

Research & Education

The Dietetics & Nutrition Department provides evidence-based nutrition practice. We support our dietitians to plan, collaborate, facilitate and conduct research projects to enhance patient care.

We also support learning and development through collaborating with educational institutions or cross departments through in-service training for hospital personnel and student dietetic internship programmes.

Do you have a medical condition that requires you to follow a special diet? Are you confused about food labels and what they mean?

A dietitian can provide the knowledge required for healthier eating. By improving eating habits, one can adjust to a healthier lifestyle.

During a consultation with our dietitian, you will receive individual counselling and specific advice on special diets. The dietitian will:

  • Provide personalised dietary advice
